“I will love You, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer. My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I will be saved from my enemies.

Psalm 18:1-3

Our God is a keeper and no good thing does He withhold. As it is written, “And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Whatever you need, look to Him and call on His name; which testifies that He is our source of everything. God Himself said “David was a man after His own heart.” That was said about David because he made a vow of not letting the sun rise or set without making time for God. David was not perfect, but he repented quickly and was a God chaser. Looking at the opening Scripture, David knew God was his everything and his keeper. There are many names of God, each detailing His sovereignty and a specific role in our lives; from Adonai-Jehovah- The Lord our Sovereign to Jehovah Jireh- The Lord Our Provider. So many of us ask who is God? But the real question is, who is God to you, because it is all about your relationship with Him. David did not kill Goliath because he fought well, but because he knew God was Jehovah-Rohi- The Lord Is My Shepherd. You don’t know who someone is, unless you stay with them. It’s why we need to get back to Eden to abide in Jesus. The last thing that we would want to hear is Jesus calling our name and asking where are you.

The Lord is your shepherd, you lack nothing. No matter where you are in life, or timeline, Jesus is present and will be your everything. Take a look around and remember all that you have survived and escaped. It was not by chance or luck, but by the grace of God. Some people think that our Lord Jesus did not come until the New Testament, but that was only in the flesh. Jesus has always been there, being our everything. From the Book of Genesis to Revelation, Jesus has always been there in His sovereignty. As it is written, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.”

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.

Before we were in the womb, Jesus knew us and was watching over us. Jesus is our source and everything loses power and is rendered useless if it doesn’t plug into its source. When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is tell God who He is to me, which is everything from my source, to the one who sustains me. If it was not for the Lord who is my everything and the one who is on my side, I shudder to think, where would I be.
