Hold On
“But those who wait on the Lord, shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31
Seasons change, and our pain and sufferings are only temporary. It’s always better later; rainbows come after the storm, and sunshine comes after the dark. Hope, like holding on, is simply waiting for eventually. Never stop persisting, hanging on, and waiting on the Lord. Everyone loves a drive thru or the microwave, but there’s usually cars in front of us and we have to wait for the timer. Simply put, holding on is waiting for the appointed time which God is in control of. Even before our Lord Jesus turned the water into wine, He knew that it wasn’t His time yet. Mary provided us with insight into this, by reminding us to be obedient until it is our time. From Genesis to Revelation, you will not find one saint who did not have to hold on, in the midst of what they were going through or requesting from God. Life is no quickie and anything easy is not worth it, much less wanted. It’s why patience is often call quiet faith.
In the Bible, we are called soldiers that will go through many hardships. As it is written, “You must therefore endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.” Let nothing that you are going through change or entangle you, or make you break the rules. As it is written, “No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.” So what concerns you? Just hold on.
God shall perfect all that which concerns you.
But if you are thinking that “I have nothing or no one to hold on to”, Stop! The devil is a liar, and nothing could be farther from the truth. Too often, we look to man and not God to hold on too. Man will always fail us, but the love of the Father is always there with no faults. As it is written, “Our help comes from the Lord.” We can learn so much from the three little pigs. We don’t hold on by building on sticks or straws, but by building on the proper foundation, which is the Word of God. As it is written, “And the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house and it did not fall, for it was founded on the Rock.” Holding on starts from within and it’s the faith like substance made visible to the world.
Be empowered by remaining firmly rooted in the Word of God. Let nothing move you, because Jesus is at your right hand. Hold on, your strength shall be renewed.
