Good Confession

“Life and death are in the are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Proverbs 18:21

Our words can bring or take away life, dreams, aspirations, and goals. The Bible even tells us that our tongue is a dangerous weapon. So what are we telling ourselves and what are we feeding on? As it is written, “It is as you say.” Often the word “confession” has been tied to crime or sin, and confession of faith has been swept under the rug. I define confession as reminding the universe that my God is its creator and no good thing will He withhold at the appointed time. In all of the kind of things that we will go through, in our hearts we will either say that we will die or we will make it through. Let me remind, faith does not waver and also decrees and declares a thing in the atmosphere.

In a world filled with many hardships, confess the end result, that you will come out as gold.

In your night seasons, confess you are the light and salt of the world. Whatever the enemy has stolen from you, confess that you shall recover it all. But let’s be clear, none of these things are possible without abiding in Jesus who makes all things possible. By the grace of God, you are who you are, and your worth goes beyond people’s opinions. As it is written, “But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by a human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself. For I know of nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this, but He who judges me is the Lord.”

You are who God says you are; anything else is just opinion that we don’t need to feed on, or let penetrate our hearts. “Sticks and stones may break our bones, but words will never hurt us” is one of the biggest lies ever told. Words have killed more people than a gun ever can or will. They hurt, and can remain with us for years if we let them fester instead of shaking them off. Good confessions soothe our hearts and spirits. Sometimes we just have to strengthen ourselves in the Lord, because His grace is sufficient for us. So starting today let us decree and declare some things, and make some good confessions like the Word of God tells us to, from Genesis to Revelation.

“I am alive with Christ.” Ephesians 2:5

“I am far from oppression and fear does not come near me.” Isaiah 54:14

“I am God’s child.” 1 Peter 1:23

“I am more than a conqueror through Him who loves me.” Romans 8:37

“I am an overcomer by the blood of the Lamb and the word of my testimony.” Revelation 12:11

“I am the light of the world.” Matthew 5:14

“I am strengthened with all might according to His power.” Colossians 1:11

I make these good confessions and more to get through the day and counter attack the lying words of the enemy.
