Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away. 23 And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there. 24 But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. 25 Now in the  fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. 27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.” 28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” 29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” 31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. 33 Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God. A simple definition of a covenant: a formal and series agreement or promise.

From Genesis to Revelation we will see that God is a covenant maker. So much so, the Bible tells us the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. And what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! It’s all about the covenant, and in its simplest form is a promise.

God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent, Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? Numbers 23:19

But let me take you deeper into covenant, a formal and series agreement or promise.

Key Points

• Formal

It is impossible to live this life without putting on Christ, building ourselves up on our most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep ourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

• Serious agreement

A covenant is bloody, causes sacrifice and many afflictions. Let me remind the Apostle Paul says that we have to go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God. But there is comfort, the prophet Jeremiah says there is hope for your future.

• Promise

Patience is simply quiet faith. The Apostle Paul says For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
But how do we survive in this corrupt generation, when we are living by sight and not by faith? But what do you when God has blinked and you think that God has left you. But what do you do,when Jesus said what does your issue have to do with Me?

But how do we make it in a world so rough and cold. Well the above opening  Scriptures provides for us a blueprint on how to do just that.

How to make it

We must know that Jesus is watching over us. vs. 25
We must know that help is coming? vs. 25

Do not fear. vs. 27
Focus on Jesus and not the storm. vs. 30
Jesus has you in His hands and will not let you drown. vs. 31
Have faith and do not doubt. vs. 31
Only staying connected with Jesus makes the wind cease. vs. 32
Worship and know who Jesus is. vs. 33

The thief comes to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. But Jesus comes that we may have life more abundantly. Indeed, Satan has asked for us, that he may sift us as wheat. But if it had not been for the Lord who is on our side and makes intercession for us, the enemy would have devoured us up a long time ago. Encourage yourself in the Lord. For the Lord Himself has said that He will never leave you nor forsake you. Fear not, for the Lord has said I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God,The Holy One of Israel, your Savior; Since you were precious in My sight,You have been honored, And I have loved you. Know today that Jesus is still working and all we have to have is one thing obedience to His Word.
