Plug In
“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. John 15:4-9
When I first started putting my thoughts together for this blog, I was forced to stop because my battery was low and I had to plug my laptop in. As it is in the physical, so it is in the spiritual, nothing lasts without being plugged in to the source. It’s survival of the fittest and only the strong will survive but no one is an island unto themselves; even Superman needed to plug in into sunlight. Sleep, rest, supplements, diet and exercise are all good, but they are temporal, but our Lord Jesus is our true source of power that we need to stay connected to. For us to not to be plugged in leaves us bitter, miserable, and easily broken. As it is written “Know therefore and see that it is an evil and bitter thing that you have forsaken the Lord your God. And the fear of Me is not in you.” Says the Lord God of hosts.
I find it impossible and to keep my sanity and make it in this world without Jesus. Jesus is the source of our strength and is standing by to strengthen us, but only if we plug in. As it is written “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” People come and go out of our lives like the seasons, but the love of the Father is always there. God Himself has said “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” As it is written “But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me.” So rest assured that in our daily lives of coming and going to where ever it may be, we will find strength to make it, if we plug in and His words remain in us.
So we have to be strong in the Lord and not in ourselves. As it is written “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,” Says the Lord of hosts. Let me remind you, strong and strength are not the same thing. Samson was strong, but he only found strength in the Lord when he plugged in. Being strong things can still make room in our heads, while strengthening ourselves in the Lord, leaves us empty handed; so we can completely rely on Him. King David won, not because he fought well, but because he plugged in well.
