Put A S On Your Chest

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

Romans 8:35-37

You are not powerless, defenseless or without help! As it is written: “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be witnesses to Me.” There is power within you, but you have to tap into it through faith. All of the superheroes had to protect the cities, states, or world that they lived in from threats. But we are to turn the world upside down, advance the kingdom, and share Christ from where we live and to the ends of the Earth. Now the Holy Spirit is the most important person on Earth because He is our Comforter and Adviser. He is also the Source of our talents, gifts, and powers. As much powers are given, much is required. Our powers are not to be slept on because it will leave us chained in our personal kryptonite.

Our battlefield is in our mind because this is where our enemies usually launch their attack. As it is written “Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” So whether we are into the Marvel or DC Universe, the exact same powers have been bestowed upon us. But if you are wondering what exactly these powers are, and who we are actually fighting, let me explain to you how to put them on. “Stand, gird your waist with truth, put on the breastplate of righteousness, shod your feet with the gospel of peace, above all take the shield of faith to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one, take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication.

People will hurt, betray, and do all kinds of unspeakable acts to us. Our fight is not with them. As it is written “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” So we have to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. As it is written “If God is for us, then who can be against us.” No enemy can overcome you, and no hero in Marvel or DC has anything on you.

For You will light my lamp; The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. For by You I can run against a troop. By my God I can leap over a wall.

So now that we know that not just in some, but in all things we are more than conquerors, let us stand up and put on the whole armor of God and fight the good fight of faith. Never forget who you are in Christ and that a hero lies in you. As the Earth waits for the manifestation of sons of God, reveal the S on your chest. It’s permanently embedded on you.

Behold I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice your names are written in heaven.
