Change Tires

For every child of God defeats this evil world and we achieve

this victory through our faith. 1 John 5:4

Growing up, I often reflected on the song “One Day at a Time”, because I knew faith was daily hard work. In the midst of this cold and evil world, we have a Refuge that we can take shelter in. Now I am not saying run away by any means, but taking shelter is simply knowing that Jesus is working and handling all of our problems today. So we can take comfort, rejoice, and be glad in the day that He has made. But how do we rejoice and be glad  in the midst of all the chaos of these times? Well it’s simple, we should not allow what we see, make us forget God said: “There is hope for our future”.

Faith is visible substance, so much so that Jesus asked, “When He returns, will He find faith?”. In fact, without faith, it is impossible to please God. A ship sinks not because of what is on the outside, but what is allowed inside. That’s why God tells us to guard our hearts.

It’s not an easy road, but having faith is like changing tires. On our daily route to where we want to be, we encounter potholes, mistakes causing delays, detours, obstacles and hinderances. But the key is, taking the time for repairs, maintenance and refueling so we can get back on the road to our dreams, aspirations, goals and heart desires. We must go through hell, to get to heaven, so we can take comfort that it will be better later if we don’t get weary and give up.

The little engine that could, made it because it dug deep from within, and with faith knew it would make it if it kept pushing. On our road there will be sacrifice, cost, pain and suffering, but when the smoke clears you will be the last man standing. Cheers to you! Look at you now! Smile, because you are a winner and victorious in your faith through our Christ.
